Well, I have made it through my very first semester of college at FIT in New York City. This is what I have gotten from the experience so far:
-I made some absolutely amazing friends.
-I completed two handbags and 1.5 pair of shoes.
-I learned how to live successfully on my own.
-I am addicted to Trader Joe's freeze dried strawberries
-I have learned how to live off of only bread and coffee because I spent my grocery money on a necklace.
-I know how to get around New York City without a map (most of the time)
-I judge the construction of all of the shoes in department stores.
-I am addicted to One Direction, Lana Del Rey and K-Pop
-I miss football games
-I know a little bit of polish...
-I can sew
-Babysitting is the best job in the world.
-Stalking celebrities is an art form
-I have visited the Whitney and the Met
-People in New York don't understand my friendliness
-I need business cards
-Don't look at people on the subway
-Walking 30 blocks isn't that bad
-The best Thai Food can be found at Room Service on 8th avenue in between 18th and 19th
-I like cooking
-In the winter the city grows cabbage in the flower beds on the sidewalks.
-and most of all, now that I am home for break in Wichita... I miss New York more than I thought I would... I guess this means that I truly do belong there. New York is now my home.
I cannot wait to start next semester. I wonder what it will bring.
